5/5/2025 Legislative Update

One of the most important bills of the session will be heard in the House Revenue Committee: HS 1 for HB 13, which creates new tax brackets for wealthy Delawareans, slightly raising taxes for those making more than $134,667 per year while giving the remaining 92% of Delawareans a tax cut.

Beyond this important bill, there are a variety of other bills being heard across committees, including a variety of worker protections: expanding union rights for public employees and increasing pay range transparency for all workers.

The legislature is back for three weeks before the Joint Finance Committee markup, which will make many important decisions around what will be going into the final budget in June. As this process develops, we’ll also be sharing more ways that you can help fight for our remaining priorities that haven’t moved forward yet this year.
